The New Zealand Welding Centre (NZWC) division was established in 1986 with the specific aim to cover the advancement of welding and joining technology across the NZ metal fabrication industry. NZWC offers a wide range of welding-related services. These include:
- Welding consultation (WPS, welding metallurgy, design
review, fatigue assessment, repair procedures, productivity
assessment, ISO 3834)
- Failure investigations and corrective actions
- Welding related research (long- and short-term)
- Developing and conducting educational courses and
seminars, including International Welding Specialist (IWS)
and AS 2214 Welding Supervisor
- Providing input into national and international welding
related standards
- Development of educational material for welder
training
